Could a dangerous knife wielding killer be released?

The man above is convicted killer Rudi Apelt. He was convicted of stabbing his sister-in-law, 30-year-old Cynthia Monkman to death in Arizona. Also involved in the evil murder scheme was his brother, convicted murderer, Michael Apelt.

The devious duo came to the United States from Germany with a scheme to take advantage of women financially. Unfortunately, they made Cynthia Monkman their target. Michael Apelt married her a month after relocating to the States and took out a $400,000 life insurance policy out on her.

A day after the policy became effective, December 23rd, 1988 the two scheming brothers took Monkman into the desert and killed her. Michael Apelt reported his wife missing the next day. Her body was later found in a desert near Apache Junction, AZ.

The two con men were sentenced to death and then they began their next sick scheme. They wanted to con a judge into believing they were mentally retarded. The Supreme Court ruled the mentally retarded could not be executed. Judge Silvia Arellano, despite a fancy law degree, (that you would assume would take a certain level of intelligence to achieve) was snowed by these two low life killers and commuted their sentence to life in prison.

Common sense would dictate that if someone is mentally retarded they would not know how to plan a premeditated murder for financial gain. Apparently Judge Arellano, a disgrace to her profession, lacks the common sense to realize that basic fact.

Maybe Arellano is against the death penalty? She has every right to be, but her political opinions should not factor into a ruling and should have strictly been about whether Apelt was mentally retarded. You should not use specific cases to wield your political opinions from the bench. If she is against the death penalty, she should step down and become a politician or activist.

Now Rudi Apelt is up for parole. The sister of the victim, Kathy Monkman Higham wrote a powerful blog where she featured her letter to the parole board. Click here to read it.

How infuriating is it that Kathy has to go through this, every time this scheming murderer is up for parole? This knife wielding murderer conned a judge, could he possibly con a parole board?

This is Cynthia Monkman, a young woman that lost her life at the age of 30. Judge Arellano did not consider her life or her family when she made her ignorant ruling. Hopefully a parole board will.

Psycho “Facebook Live” killer shoots himself!

The madman in Cleveland that killed a man on “Facebook Live” killed himself after a police pursuit. Saving the tax payers a lot of money. Good riddance!

Steve Stephens was subject to a national manhunt after he randomly gunned down a 74-year-old man, Robert Godwin Sr. on Easter. Now the manhunt for the armed and dangerous psycho has ended after a police pursuit in Erie, PA.

A tipster called in to report Stephens after witnessing him in the parking lot of a fast food chain. Police caught up with Stephens and he fled from them, a short pursuit ensued and then Stephens shot himself and was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is not the end of the investigation. Anyone stupid enough to help shelter this psycho from law enforcement will face criminal charges, anyone that gave him aid knowing the evil acts he perpetrated against a 74-year-old man will also face criminal charges.

Furthermore, Stephens said on “Facebook Live” that he is responsible for killing 13 other people. There is no evidence if there is any truth to that, or if it is just the disturbed ramblings of a psychopath.

Many are wondering what the motive was for this senseless shooting of an elderly man. Reports suggest Stephens was pissed at his girlfriend and this cowardly psycho took out his frustrations on an innocent 74-year-old man that he did not know from Adam.

What is really puzzling is that Stephens was employed at a place called “Beach Brook” a place that is described as a “behavioral health agency” for children and teenagers. How would you like this gun toting lunatic around children that may have behavior problems? Yikes!

New bombshell evidence suggests Sherri Papini faked her abduction!

Late last year California mother Sherri Papini mysteriously vanished, after weeks of frantic searching she was found with her body covered in bruises, her long blonde hair cut off and significantly under weight. She was found on the side of the road 150 miles away from her home.

Many online sleuths doubted her story and speculated that this could have been a devious hoax. She claimed two Hispanic females abducted her. Most kidnappers of women are men. She claimed they were wearing masks but gave descriptions of their hair, piercings on their face and detailed the age differences in her alleged abductors. If they were wearing a mask how could she give those descriptions? Those are some of the holes in her story.

Now new bombshell information has released. When she was a teen, Papini inflicted injuries on herself and blamed her own mother for it. The Sheriff also told ABC News: “There should not be a public safety or a personal safety concern by the public regarding this case.” People are reading between the lines on that statement, speculating that the police are now doubting Papini’s story, because if there are two Hispanic females on the loose, kidnapping and beating housewives, that is cause for concern.

High profile legal eagles Nancy Grace and Dan Abrams appeared on Good Morning America and faced off with each other about this. Abrams found the new details extremely relevant to the case, while Grace defended Pappini and described all of this as “victim blaming.” However, Grace did concede that the statement made by the Sheriff and the earbuds belonging to Pappini are significant.

Pappini’s earbuds were discovered in her yard, she vanished while jogging. As Nancy Grace noted on Good Morning America, her earbuds were coiled neatly around her phone and found in the grass. Which suggests a sloppy attempt at staging. If two people abducted a woman while jogging, most would think the earbuds would not be folded neatly around her phone. That the captors would just grab them and throw them randomly or Papini dropped her phone in a struggle to get away from her captors. In either scenario why would the earbuds be folded neatly around the phone?

What do you think of the case? Could this be an evil hoax perpetrated by Papini, maybe she has a mental illness that has carried over into her adult life? Or is she a victim that is being further victimized by having her past picked apart and used against her?

Catch up on the Tara Grinstead murder case

In 2005 Tara vanished. Last month a huge break in the case emerged as Ryan Duke, an ex student at the high school Tara worked at as a history teacher was arrested for the murder. For more on that CLICK HERE to listen to my interview with Sheryl McCollum of the Cold Case Investigative Research Institute on the arrest.

Plus, a pecan farm was searched for Tara’s body. I discussed the search with death investigator and author Joseph Scott Morgan. To listen to that interview click here.

And, Tricia Griffith and I recently discussed the arrest of a second man, Bo Dukes. We discuss his criminal history and a gag order placed on the case. Listen to that podcast here.
